Antique French Mahogany Louis XVI Slant Front Lady’s Bureau Writing Desk
Elegant French ladies bureau, secratary writing table or desk made in the grand Louis XVI taste. Features a slant flip-front style case topped with Hand Carved Mahogany Bronze tipped Columns backed by a framed Beveled Mirror, supporting a Gilt Bronze Galleried Shelf. Made in the style of “Bonheur de Jour” which was a small ladies desk popular in mid-18th century Paris. Within The Flip-down Leather Bound and topped writing surface the center top has several storage drawers. The bottom of the case is fitted with a large storage drawer and supported by bronze mounted elegant tapered Brass trimmed Fluted legs. Beautiful bronze mounts and neoclassical swag trim decorate the case with a rich aged patina.
